Cooperation VEI and UNESCO-IHE in the spotlights

In the latest edition of UPDATE MAGAZINE Adriaan Mels and Klaas Schwartz talk about the interesting cooperation between Vitens Evides International and UNESCO-IHE. “Both organizations are driven to provide the knowledge and capacity necessary for countries to reach SDG#6.”

In November 2012, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft and Vitens Evides International. By doing this, the two parties expressed their intention to promote a more structural partnership.

Join forces
Six months later, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed and the actual cooperation started. The two parties aimed to join forces to increase the effectiveness and impact of capacity building in the water sector, by joint acquisition, research and publishing.

Now, 4 years after the signing of the MoU, Klaas Schwartz (UNESCO-IHE) and Adriaan Mels (VEI) got together to talk about the past period. They agreed that their organizations share the same drive to provide the knowledge and capacity necessary to support water companies in developing countries to improve their capacities.
