International Water Week 2011

19 October 2011
From October 29 to November 4 Amsterdam will host the first International Water Week in the Netherlands (IWW 2011). The IWW highlights several topics relevant to Vitens Evides International. One of them is the conference Water Operator Partnerships the significant role public water utilities can play  in achieving MDGs, by sharing their know-how and expertise with oversees colleagues.

Vitens has a long tradition of sharing know-how on solving water related problems through international peer to peer twinning. With Surinam Water Company our relationship lasts for over 20 years! This type of peer to peer cooperation is attracting more and more interest from financial institutions that recognise their contribution to improved financial viability of water utilities.

Siemen Veenstra from Vitens Evides International will chair one of the workshops on November 3, thereby challenging the participants in the development of a bankable WOP, meaning a partnership that builds upon lessons learned so far.
